Dr. Michael Finnegan

Dr. Finnegan is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and gastroenterology. He grew up on Long Island and earned his bachelor’s degree (BS) at Stonehill College in 1992, with a major in biology and a minor in business. He earned his medical degree (MD) at St. George’s University in 1997.

He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Albany Medical Center in 2004. He then worked in New Haven, Connecticut where he was an associate professor at Yale University.

He returned to the capital District in 2008 and worked at both St. Mary’s Hospital and Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Over the last 11 years he has been employed as a community gastroenterologist at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam, New York.

Dr. Finnegan is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy as well as the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association. 

He is a long-standing resident of Saratoga Springs. He is married and has three children. He enjoys golfing, skiing, and playing recreational ice hockey. He is currently seeing patients in Clifton Park as well as the office on Washington Avenue in Albany.
