Take Steps Road Rally with the Northeastern New York Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation

Albany Gastroenterology Consultants was pleased to support and participate in this year’s Albany Take Steps Road Rally with the Northeastern New York Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.  It was a chilly, windy day, at the Malta Drive-in, but more than 40 decorated cars still joined in the parade and contests. The event raised $76,000 for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, supporting crucial research and public outreach. The chapter’s efforts are truly inspiring, and we applaud all the participants.

Albany Gastroenterology Consultants was proud to be named the “2021 Medical Honored Heroes,” and our own Dr. Joseph Polito spoke at the event. We’re also excited to share that our very own Wanda, one of the “Albany Colon Crusaders” team members, won first place in the car decorating contest.

In spite of therapeutic advances over the last few decades, we are still a long way from a much-needed cure for our patients who continue the struggle with Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis. We are truly inspired by our patients’ boldness, grit and determination. We are also inspired by the hard work and effort of all our medically honored heroes who take such great care of our patients. Our nurses, mid-level providers, medical assistants, administrative staff and doctors all work diligently to help guide and heal our patients struggling with inflammatory bowel disease, and without the entire team, we would not be able to provide the excellent care our patients depend on.

We were delighted to take part in this year’s Albany Road Rally and look forward to the future of our partnership with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Northeastern Upstate New York Chapter. It truly takes a village, and when we come together to support the continued efforts of the foundation the future certainly is bright!

Congratulations to all the teams and fundraisers, we salute you all!
