  • Served as the chairman of various committees during her training, including Wellness Committee and Research Committee, founded the Gastroenterology Fellows & Residents Interest Group and the Women’s Physician-Day Annual Celebrations, and served as a representative of the House Staff Leadership Council and Program Evaluation Committee for consecutive years of her fellowship.
  • Appointed the Chief Fellow of her Gastroenterology training program.
  • Received the Dedication to Research and Excellence Award in residency.
  • Has won numerous presentation and poster-presentation awards from the American College of Gastroenterology, Annual Scientific Meeting.
  • Was awarded a Merit in Clinical Specialties whilst in London.
  • Served as the Class President of Siena College and delivered the Commencement Speech in 2016.

Specialties & Main Areas of Interest

  • Dr. Tagliaferri is a general gastroenterologist, treating most diseases in the gastrointestinal tract. Though she has a particular interest in small bowel and esophageal pathology, she enjoys caring for all patients and believes in an individualized approach.

Research

  • Participated in research throughout her time in college, medical school, residency, and fellowship, with work accepted to and/or presented at local, national, and international conferences/symposiums.
  • Currently has over 100 publications and has a special interest in research pertaining to rare diseases, associations with inflammatory bowel disease, and therapeutic approaches to motility disorders.
  • Dr. Tagliaferri has delivered presentations to medical students and residents during her training. She has a passion for teaching patients and young learners alike and believes everyone should have an opportunity for informed decision-making.
