Dr. Alan Mark Samuels joined Albany Gastroenterology Consultants in 1995. A graduate of New York University, University College of Art and Sciences, Dr. Samuels earned his bachelor degree and then continued on to New York University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Strong Memorial Hospital of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Samuels was a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Medical Corps at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. He then completed two fellowships at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital at Harvard Medical School.

In addition to his own studies, Dr. Samuels was also an assistant professor at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston and an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Albany Medical College. Dr. Samuels is married with four children. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, skiing, theater, and computer technology.
